Nokia “Comes with Music” Feature to be added on N96

The Finnish company’s Nokia “Comes with Musicfeature which was available through Carphone Warehouse, recently launched in the UK, will be available with N96 also. It was supposed to be availabe only for Nokia 5310 XpressMusic through Carphone Warehouse channel until December 31, 2008. It was because no British mobile carrier joined Nokia’s initiative at that time. Later 3 UK was supposed to the first operator  to bring this feature on N95 8G Nseries smartphone.

According to Pocket-lint, just before Christmas, N96 should be launched with “Comes with Music” service just before Christmas this year, although the figures on the price tag is not yet revealed.Yet another boon for the music admirers.

Nokia Acquires Symbian Limited

Nokia today announced that it has completed its acquiring of Symbian Limited. All conditions to Nokia’s offer to acquire Symbian Limited have been satisfied and it has received valid acceptance of greater than 99.9% of the total Symbian shares that Nokia did not already own. Symbian is the software company that develops and licenses Symbian OS, the market-leading open operating system for mobile devices.

All Symbian employees are planned to become Nokia employees on February 1, 2009.

Nokia Maps 3.0 Beta Download

The latest Edition of Nokia Maps, Nokia Maps 3.0 beta, is now available as a free download, coming with lots of improvements and new features. 3.0 beta version of Nokia Maps currently works only with handsets that run on Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, so those who have Feature Pack 1 will have to wait a bit longer until they can get the application running.

Maps are now also available in the web under Nokia’s Ovi brand, so point your browser to maps.ovi.com and register as an Ovi user! This enables you to use the synch feature to keep your favorite places up to date in both mobile & web. Nokia Maps 3.0 has improved features like 3D landmarks for more than 200 major cities, Hi-resolution aerial images for Satellite and Hybrid map modes, new Terrain map mode, improved car navigation an improved pedestrian navigation

Nokia N97 Launched

Nokia has officially launched the latest N Series handset N97. N97 is a touch screen and full-QWERTY keyboard equipped slider phone. Nokia N97 will be the new flagship N-Series handset and packs with a 3.5-inch, 640 x 360 pixel (that’s a 16:9 aspect ratio).

Features of N97;

  • HSDPA, WiFi, and Bluetooth radios
  • A-GPS
  • 3.5-mm headjack
  • 32GB of onboard memory with microSD expansion (for up to 48GB total capacity),
  • Battery capable of up to 1.5 days of continuous audio playback or 4.5-hours video
  • 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss glass and “DVD quality” video capture at 30fps.
  • S60 5th Edition OS

The N97 will launch with a retail price set at around €550 ($693) excluding subsidies and taxes, phone to ship in H1 2009.

N85 to be Shipped after Seven Days

It is time for sigh of relief for users who are worried about the high price tag of Nokia N96. N85 from Nokia is coming to US, which is much more affordable and desirable compared to N96. Just after seven days, NA version of S60 smartphone will be in stock according to Amazon. The gadget is priced at is priced at $555.9 which is a good deal compared to the $800 price tag on the N96. N85 can be very well added as another feather to N Series hat.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Shipping

Nokia has finally started shipping its much awaited Nokia 5800 XpressMusic which is the first touch screen device for the mainstream market. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic had some controversy about its price. As the price of this much anticipated gadget seemed to more then EUR 429 in Spain which was against the officially promised EUR 279. Nokia sources claims that the price is as promised 279 Euro, which is excluding the taxes and subsidies. Nokia 5800 will be available in markets such as Russia, Spain, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Finland, among others, probably at different price points, as it will depend on the offers from local resellers.

The key features of trendy gadget are  3.2″ widescreen display with capacitive touchscreen (16:9 aspect ratio, 30FPS video record/playback),  3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and dual-LED flash, built-in accelerometer, GPS, and Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack and 8GB memory in-box and  Series 60 5th Edition OS with Share on Ovi, Flickr, or Facebook.

Nokia E75 Leaked Pictures

Nokia’s latest upcoming offering the business smartphone category, the E series, E75 has been leaked on the web. The new pictures of the E75 has been spotted out in the wild and leaked pics are now online. It features a 2.4 inch screen along with an alpha numeric keypad. It also features a QWERTY keypad when the slider is open sideways. There is no official information on other features, release date or the price.

Nokia 6260 Officially Announced

Nokia has officially announced the latest slider phone Nokia 6260, a feature rich handset running Series 40. This slider phone boasts a 5-megapixel camera, the latest 3G technology with support for HSUPA and HSDPA networks, and built-in Wi-Fi for fast Internet connectivity. The Nokia 6260 Slide also comes with a first for the Series 40 platform: GPS with A-GPS.

It has the good music player, Internet browser, and a front-facing camera for 3G calls. The Nokia 6260 Slide is expected to come out in the beginning of 2009 for an estimated retail price of €299 (or about $386 USD) before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Edition

Nokia has lanuched a N96 Bruce Lee Special Edition phone and targetted for all martial art fans. Nokia has recently released this edition in Hong Kong, the limited edition phone.  The handset has Bruce Lee’s face and signature on the back case, and it’s packed with rare photos of the legendary actor. The phone further comes bundled with several accessories and a Bruce Lee doll.
