Nokia Maps 3.0 Beta Download

The latest Edition of Nokia Maps, Nokia Maps 3.0 beta, is now available as a free download, coming with lots of improvements and new features. 3.0 beta version of Nokia Maps currently works only with handsets that run on Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, so those who have Feature Pack 1 will have to wait a bit longer until they can get the application running.

Maps are now also available in the web under Nokia’s Ovi brand, so point your browser to maps.ovi.com and register as an Ovi user! This enables you to use the synch feature to keep your favorite places up to date in both mobile & web. Nokia Maps 3.0 has improved features like 3D landmarks for more than 200 major cities, Hi-resolution aerial images for Satellite and Hybrid map modes, new Terrain map mode, improved car navigation an improved pedestrian navigation

Nokia N97 Launched

Nokia has officially launched the latest N Series handset N97. N97 is a touch screen and full-QWERTY keyboard equipped slider phone. Nokia N97 will be the new flagship N-Series handset and packs with a 3.5-inch, 640 x 360 pixel (that’s a 16:9 aspect ratio).

Features of N97;

  • HSDPA, WiFi, and Bluetooth radios
  • A-GPS
  • 3.5-mm headjack
  • 32GB of onboard memory with microSD expansion (for up to 48GB total capacity),
  • Battery capable of up to 1.5 days of continuous audio playback or 4.5-hours video
  • 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss glass and “DVD quality” video capture at 30fps.
  • S60 5th Edition OS

The N97 will launch with a retail price set at around €550 ($693) excluding subsidies and taxes, phone to ship in H1 2009.

Motorola Alexander and Motorola Attila Live pics

We have already mentioned about the leaked Motorola phones which are under development and also published photos of Motorola Attila.Today we have got live pictures of the Motorola Alexander and Motorola Attila. This was given out by a Chinese site IT168.com. There are only live images, but no information about the specifications of both models.

Both these phones looks like having a good screen and Alexander being smaller of the two.

MTV 3.4 Phone Launched by ModeLabs

ModeLabs Group has announced a new handset MTV 3.4 which is purely designed for youngsters and will be branded as Non-Stop MTV. ModeLabs is a French manufacturer who is famous for tailor-made phones like the Christian Dior and the Hummer HT1 ones. MTV 3.4 offers various features which will bring people closer to the popular music TV channel. MTV 3.4 contains various ring tones, videos, logos and games from MTV.

MTV 3.4 “Non-Stop MTV” is a good looking handset and here are some of the features:

Sonim XP3- Toughest GSM phone in the World

Sonim XP3, the successor of XP1, and one of the toughest GSM phones in the world, is now available for purchase in the UK. The handset is available in three colors- black, grey and yellow and is available for purchase for £209 (+ VAT) for unlocked version. Vodafone UK is planning to include it in its range before Christmas. Sonim XP3 is certified waterproof (IP-57 certification), it has durable mechanics and a shock resistant screen and comes with a three year warranty.

Motorola QA30 Leaked, QWERTY Slider

Motorola’s first QWERTY slider has been leaked and detailed information is available on the specifications and also the live images. MOTO QA30 is a CDMA slider phone which might be released with Alltel in US. There is no details on the pricing yet, but its not going to be smartphone.

Nokia E75 Leaked Pictures

Nokia’s latest upcoming offering the business smartphone category, the E series, E75 has been leaked on the web. The new pictures of the E75 has been spotted out in the wild and leaked pics are now online. It features a 2.4 inch screen along with an alpha numeric keypad. It also features a QWERTY keypad when the slider is open sideways. There is no official information on other features, release date or the price.

Nokia 6260 Officially Announced

Nokia has officially announced the latest slider phone Nokia 6260, a feature rich handset running Series 40. This slider phone boasts a 5-megapixel camera, the latest 3G technology with support for HSUPA and HSDPA networks, and built-in Wi-Fi for fast Internet connectivity. The Nokia 6260 Slide also comes with a first for the Series 40 platform: GPS with A-GPS.

It has the good music player, Internet browser, and a front-facing camera for 3G calls. The Nokia 6260 Slide is expected to come out in the beginning of 2009 for an estimated retail price of €299 (or about $386 USD) before taxes and subsidies.

AOL Sync Beta Launched for Windows Mobile

AOL has launched a new service, Sync, in partnership with Funambol to allow its users to sync their calendar and contacts with their Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices. With AOL sync Beta you can sync your calendar, contacts and tasks. Tasks and email are not supported at the moment, but these could be added up at a later point of time.
