This uses WWAN networks to execute the lock down. The ThinkPad notebooks equipped with this feature will be sold from Q1 2009. The users simply needs to create and send a text message with the keywords “lockdown now PC” or “PC shut off.” to activate disable feature. The laptop becomes lockown as and when the laptop’s onboard mobile broadband service receives the message. Soon after the Remote Disable technology-enabled lock is successfully applied confirmatory message is sent back to the user .
