iPhone Misleading Commercial Banned in UK

Even though, most people realize the difference between reality and ad, according ASA of UK, the ad should always meet its standards. The Advertising Standards Authority of UK, has banned the recent iPhone 3G commercial after receiving complaints from 17 people. The people claimed that the commercial was very misleading.

The ad says that the iPhone is “really fast” and the handset loads web pages in just a fraction of a second. Apart from Apple’s statement that “Network performance may vary by location”, ASA  seemed to stick to their decision and ended up banning it from UK . ASA  thinks that the iPhone 3G is not capable of such speedy performance regardless of the network. It said that the ad mislead viewers to believe the iPhone was really that speedy. As ASA claims that the commercial completely do not meet the advertising standards,the ad is banned in UK where as it still continue to run is America.
